Shelby County Jail Project Approved!

The Shelby County jail project was successfully approved! This was in part due to the effective video produced by Powell Film Co. A new home for our dispatch and sheriffs office, and a humane jail facility equipped to serve our community. The video was viewed by a large percentage of the county. Many of whom probably would not attend meetings in person.

The video was designed to educate and inform the public about the need for a new jail, using a teleprompter and multiple camera angles to create a professional, seamless production. It was scripted (by LJ Hart) and coached to ensure clarity and flow, and its wide dissemination on social media helped to persuade the public to support the project.

This is really a testament to the power of video in conveying important messages and achieving successful outcomes. That’s a $7 million dollar project approved in part because of an informational video. Sometimes people need to see it and hear about it, video is a great tool for that job.
